James C. F. Huang is Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Prior to joining TAITRA, he was Director General of the New Southbound Policy Office at the Office of the President, Director of International Affairs for the Democratic Progressive Party, and Taiwan’s 18th Minister of Foreign Affairs. As a former entrepreneur and diplomat as well as having played instrumental roles in formulating the New Southbound Policy for President Tsai Ing-wen's administration, Chairman Huang is deeply experienced in both the private and public sectors. With a career spanning three decades dedicated to promoting Taiwan's economic development and international relations, he has worked to ensure businesses are supported in their efforts to expand to international markets. In his past roles, Chairman Huang has actively reached out to business communities, NGOs, civil societies, and youth groups, and has pushed for innovative and inclusive initiatives on city-to-city diplomacy. In the private sector, Chairman Huang has held senior consultant and management positions at Taiwan's leading technology companies. During his time in government, Chairman Huang served successive postings at the Foreign Ministry in Taipei, Taiwan’s Representative Office in Washington, D.C., the Mainland Affairs Council, and the President’s Office as Spokesman and Deputy Secretary General to the President.

John Jorritsma

John Jorritsma has a long international career being director of the Brabant Development Agency. He also held a number of advisory posts for innovation hubs and start-up incubators, often linked to economy, he was also a member of several Dutch supervisory boards. As Chairman of Brainport and Mayor of Eindhoven, he is engaged with multi-helix collaboration between company’s, knowledge institutions and governments. By for instance creating HighTech testbeds in the brainport region. He was and is actively committed to contribute to the international sustainable development goals (SDG’s) for instance on education, waste and good health in old age. In his role as chairman of the Netherlands international strategic board, he stimulates trade and innovation collaborations with international strategic counterparts like Taiwan.

He has personally invested in over 50 companies and founded a number of start-ups in the past decade. His investments were sold to Uber, Snap, Samsung, Intel, Oracle and more. He also funded and sold an HR company and co-founded PocketGuide, one of the world’s leading travel apps. Denes has been lecturing at Harvard, Kellogg, INSEAD and CKGSB and dedicated more than ten years to fostering growth, training and shaping corporate strategy for companies around the globe, improving the profitability of over 100 companies and training thousands of CEOs and entrepreneurs around the world. As a respected community leader, Denes is closely involved with a number of philanthropic organizations and on Saturday nights you can find him playing blues and jazz with his band.
